Making characters with magicavoxel1/6/2024 Invest time into your shader and you should get a quite good result. So if all your animated models are 3D characters, I think it shouldn't be a problem. What is hard to do is animate the 3D characters in a way that is not at odds with the 2D animations around it. One thing that you see in these examples is: the cell shading can actually be done in a way that blends in pretty perfectly with the 2D drawn stuff. Some things would be hard to do the traditional way, but mostly it is much cheaper to have a 3D artist create a model and rig than have a 2D artist draw all the needed frames for a clean rotation of an object for example. All the "complex stuff" is done with 3D models and cel shading nowadays. I cannot name a game that does it this way around (many combine 2D characters with a 3D environment), but stuff like this often used in todays cartoons and animes. Will it be possible? Yes, others have succeded before with that. Oh and with keys A and D you can set the angle, however, it is pretty hard to set to exactly 45 or 30 or 15 or whatever you want as it rotates way too quickly and you have to hit quickly back and force until you get lucky to get exactly the angle you want.Do you think it will be possible for them to be blended seamlessly ? also maybe you know of other games that used this method ? If you want an Iso game then you might need that isometric settings (Iso) instead of perspective as on this screenshot (Pers). Also make sure the ground and background is off (GD and BG) and everything else but the shadows (SW). Click on it, when it becomes bold then there is alpha channel (and believe or not on that screenshot that A icon is bold, very hard to distinguish between on and off. See that letter A next to the camera icon? That is the Alpha channel. It is actually pretty easy, although I agree the user interface is not that intuitive. I draw, I make games and I scribble things.
